CMP of Specialty Metals and Alloys
Yielding the highest quality surfaces on a variety of shapes, sizes and materials
Leveraging years of experience of Chemical Mechanical Planarization (CMP), slurries and pads, Surface Finishes provides nanoscale surface roughness, improved surface purity and cleanliness and low subsurface damage on specialty metals and alloys. This breakthrough technology yields optical quality, scratch free surfaces on soft metals such as aluminum and copper. With our CMP technology we also have the ability to polish refractory metals such as titanium, tantalum, molybdenum, niobium and tungsten to optical quality finishes while maintaining very precise dimensional tolerances.
Our CMP technology is combined with high-precision finishing capabilities to yield Angstrom level quality finishes on a variety of polishing materials including:
- Aluminum
Precision Mirrors
- Copper
- Glidcop®
- Molybdenum
- Niobium
- Silicon
- Stainless Steel
- Tantalum
- Titanium
- Tungsten
- Others
Components produced using our CMP technology are used in the following applications:
- Mirrors,Targets and Substrates
- Air Bearing Surfaces
- Components and Consumables for High Energy Research
- Vacuum Chambers
- Seal Faces
- Medical Devices
- Other
